Southeast and Northeast Elementary schools, in collaboration with Barksdale Reading Institute, invite you to join us for our 2019-2020 Parent Academy
Who? Parents/guardians of preschool children who will be entering kindergarten at Southeast Elementary and Northeast Elementary in the fall of 2020.
What? A series of interactive workshops that will help parents/guardians prepare their child(ren) to successfully start kindergarten. Together, we will:
- Learn what children need to know (and do) to be "ready for kindergarten" in literacy, math and general development
- Help parents identify areas that their children may need extra support
- Give parents some materials and activities that they can use at home to help prepare their children.
Where? Both Southeast Elementary and Northeast Elementary will offer classes. You do NOT have to attend the classes at the specific school where your child will attend and you do NOT have to attend all the classes at the same school (you can mix and match according to your schedule). We want to make this as convenient for families as possible. *Evening sessions will have childcare and refreshments provided for children ages 4 and up.
When? Southeast Elementary October 14th: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening 6:00 - 7:00
November 21st: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening 6:00 - 7:00
January 23rd: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening 6:00 - 7:00
February 20th: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening 6:00 - 7:00
March 23rd: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening 6:00 - 7:00
Northeast Elementary October 17th: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening 5:30 - 6:30
November 18th: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening 5:30 - 6:30
January 23rd: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening 5:30 - 6:30
February 13th: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening 5:30 - 6:30
March 26th: daytime 11:30 - 12:30 / evening t 5:30 - 6:30
Each family that attends a total of 5 classes will be eligible to receive a reward in March.
