The Spelling Bee is an annual competition that most parents and even grandparents remember from their childhood. SEE did not let a global pandemic stop this tradition! Each 4th grade classroom held a preliminary round to find their top spellers. Madison Lee, Kamille Ivory, Bryson Yates, Gavin Reed-Tate and WIlliam Briggs advanced from Mrs. Culpepper's class. Kaylee Evans, Silas Page, Aidyn Bland, Trayvion Rogers and Caidyn Gilbert advanced from Mrs. Thorne's class. Julia Reece, Anna Rae Carney, Logan Russell Bently Huddleston and Makinley Durant advanced from Mrs. Turk's class. Judson Butler, Landyn Pickens and Zakayla Fountain advanced from Ms. Vick's class. Brody Sheffield, Emily Smith, Christopher Bradford, Alma Hinton and Liam Johnson advanced from Mrs. Williams' class. These participants lined the SEE Gym walls as classes and parents watched on Zoom the morning of December 11th. After nearly 20 tense rounds and lots of great spelling, Gavin Reed - Tate won first place! Liam Johnson finished 2nd. Both of these students will advance to compete in the Meridian/Lauderdale County Spelling Bee.
