SEE Celebrates Junior Auxiliary Day

The Junior Auxiliary of Meridian has been serving children in our community for over 80 years.   They fund Mini-Grants for teachers so they can purchase extra supplies for special projects in their classrooms.  The JA also gives books to every student in certain grades through the Reading is Fundamental project.  Southeast Elementary appreciates all the wonderful ways JA has helped our students over the years.

We were proud to create our own "Reading Rainbow" to celebrate JA Day.   Each grade wore shirts of a different color in the rainbow:   Purple for Pre-K, Blue for Kindergarten, Green for 1st Grade, Yellow for 2nd grade, Orange for 3rd grade, and Red for 4th grade.   The staff wore white shirts to be the clouds around the rainbow.

Getting an entire elementary school student body into one picture was an exciting (and just a little challenging) event on Friday morning.   The smiles by the staff and students show that we enjoyed creating our tribute to Junior Auxiliary of Meridian.
