Earth Day

Today for Earth Day, Mrs. Harkins' second grade class participated in a Save the Earth Math Escape game on Google Forms. Students were grouped into pairs. As they worked with their partner, each pair had to solve word problems in which they found the sum of two-and three-digit numbers.

For each level, they had to correctly answer about three word problems (which taught them about recycling, reducing, and reusing). If they answered incorrectly, they would not advance to the next Level.

When students reached Level 5, they had to answer more addition equations. Each sum corresponded to a letter in the alphabet. They had to use this code to find the password to exit level 5, therefore winning the game.

The class winners today were Allison Porter and AJ Bradford. We had so much fun learning about Earth Day!
